Treatment of Lung Cancer 

Therapy effort of lung cancer is done by considering history aspect and condition of health of patient public, and cancer stadium. When medical doctor suspects patient is hit by lung cancer, usually medical doctor will do physical examination and sputum sampling ( spits) to be checked with microscope; some lung cancer types of course can be detected through sputum. If at sputum analysis was not found cancer cells, medical doctor possibly suggests patient to do inspection of addition : 

1. X-ray or CT scan thorax. 

2. Bronchoscopy, that is lung binoculars. 

3. Needle biopsy, that is lung tumor network sampling to be checked the tumor type by pathologist. 

4. Bone Scan, that is inspection of bone when medical doctor suspects existence of spreading of cancer to bone. 

5. Mediastinoscopy, that is lymph excretary tissue sampling to detect spreading of lung cancer to lymph.

6. Inspection of blood related to tumor marker for lung cancer, like PTH ( for example to differentiate lung cancer with pleural cancer), CEA ( if(when the rate is above 50, shows continuation stadium lung cancer), or CYFRA21-1 protein marker lung cancer). 

For continuation stadium lung cancer patient generally is done some curative efforts as follows : 

1. Surgery; action of surgery done for cancer which has not disseminated is finite to other network outside lung. 

2. Radiotherapy; radiation sometime applied as main therapy of lung cancer, for example for patient that is insufficient healthy to experience operation. While for other patient, radiation done to minimize the cancer ( done before operation). At continuation stadium cancer case, radiation also applicable to assuage symptom like pain in bone, haemorrhage, and difficulty swallows. 

3. Chemotherapy; primary chemotherapy usually done at lung cancer which has having metastasis ( disseminates). 

Chemotherapy and radiation often becomes alternative of choice because action of surgery usually doesn't have an effect on big to survival ( continuity of life) patient. But important to remember, each action of the therapy of course is done as according to type and condition of the cancer. Side effects which will emerge also is obliged to considered.
